Glossary

Request Type

Definition of Request Type.

Meaning

A published request form that tells a client what information to provide and how the resulting ticket is routed. Internal form managers publish a request type to all clients, selected organizations, or selected departments. Clients choose their available request types from the New request catalog.

A request type may also link a published ticket-root work template. That link keeps the chosen version until a form manager updates it and creates internal follow-up work beneath the submitted ticket. The client's request stays governed by the form's fields and routing. Submitting the form creates a request; the catalog does not create requests on a schedule.
